Make Yourself Heart Attack Proof: Eat to Your Heart's Content -

This post that is closely connected to the previous one. Oranges are another favorite snack of mine and I just may consider adding sardines as a fish to eat, although that will require me finding recipes to cook them with.

8 Snacks That Fight Heart Disease -

To help get this blog back on track, here are a couple of posts of great importance to anyone. The first one concerns snacks that help in the fight against heart disease. Apples are my favorite, followed by dark chocolate and grapes. I will definitely add almonds and walnuts to my snack rotation.

Too Long Between Posts, Let's Keep This Going

My indention is not to make this post sound like a tweet but it is just a quick update.  I had to focus much of my efforts on work and outside interest not involving my blog recently but I do intend on still posting.  I'll focus on some interesting graphic design blogs soon.

Photo Gallery and Interview from The Morning News

I found this photo gallery and interview from The Morning News titled Ghosts of Shopping Past.  It is about a photographer, Brian Ulrich, who took pictures of closed down malls and big box retail stores.  He is interviewed by Nozlee Samadzadeh.  I actually found the link from a website dedicated to malls, both dead and alive.  It was either Deadmalls.com (http://www.deadmalls.com/) , Shopping Mall Museum (http://shoppingmallmuseum.blogspot.com/), or Mall Hall of Fame (.http://mall-hall-of-fame.blogspot.com).  Mall Hall of Fame has links to both of Deadmalls.com and Shopping Mall Museum.  It brought back memories of me taking pictures of buildings as a part of an assignment for my photography class.  While the pictures I took were not of dead malls or vacant retail buildings, an artistic approach was still made for why I captured the images of the buildings and I see the same with this project.  I also appreciate that the images of Ulrich's project tell the story of how the buildings had better days that have long since ended and is perfectly appropriate considering the state of the economy.  The link is here:

The Beginning

Hello and welcome to my blog.  This is the third blog that I have created not counting my twitter account (www.twitter.com/lightningrexj) or the blogging sections of social networking websites like Facebook or Myspace.  I really hope this blog takes off this time compared to my previous ones.   I want to do work in the video game industry(including computer games) using visual arts, particularly graphic design and illustration (which I admit needs some improvement). Since that is my dream much of my posts will be focused on video games, visual arts (especially graphic design), comic books, animation, and anime and manga, in addition to other forms of technology and entertainment when appropriate.  I'll also post my thoughts on other subjects as well.  I think it's also fair to talk a little bit about my previous blogs.

My first blog was created when I was in college as part of a class assignment.  Once the assignment was completed I made a few more posts to it but eventually my attention became focused on my studies and I stopped updating it.  My other blog was part of a free trial to a websites premium features.  Frankly, I thought it was better to use a free service instead even though there were great features on it.  I'll find the names to my previous blogs later.  Ultimately, those blogs failed due to a lack of dedication on my part.  I don't intend on that happening this time.  I will not say how often I will post, but it will be enough that this blog stays relevant in my life.  And this concludes the opening post for Electrifying Dreams and Goals.
